Travel Grants for Presenting Graduate Research
in Evolution, Ecology and Behavior
(2006/2007 Academic Year)
The Graduate Program in Evolutio, Ecology and Behavior (EEB) has a small fund of money that we wish to use to support travel to national or international professional meetings. All UB Masters and Ph.D. students in good standing who plan to present an oral or poster presentation on their research in evolution, ecology and behavior are invited to compete for a travel grant. The money must be spent on travel expenses to the meeting at which the research is/was presented. Students compete by presenting their talk or poster during the final meeting of the Evolution Colloquium (APY 550, BIO 553, GEO 555) each spring. EEB Faculty judge the presentations and chose one or more students to receive grants. Students competing for travel grants are encouraged, but not required, to enroll in the Evolution Colloquium where they have the opportunity to present preliminary versions of the their presentations and receive feedback from faculty and fellow students both on the research and the presentation itself. Grant Period: Funds can be used for expenses incurred between July 1, 2006 and August 31, 2007.
